Alabama Trails Commission Meets To Discuss Trail Opportunities Community ServiceOn September 6, 2013, leaders from various trail interests met in Clanton, Alabama, at the Alabama Power Conference Center to discuss trail issues, development of resources, and the potential for tourism opportunities in the state regarding trails.  On hand were representatives from the OHV, biking, hiking, equestrian, canoeing, birding, diving sectors, as well as many other interested parties.

The four-hour workshop was a time for all to be in the same room, to get to know one another, and to put to word the needs and goals of the different groups.

Listening to the needs were representatives from Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs, Alabama Innovation Engine, UA Center for Economic Development, Alabama Tourism, Auburn University Urban Studio, Alabama Power Company, among others.

Look for future meetings, discussions, and development from the Alabama Trails Commission.

  1. When will the Al Trails Com meet in 2014. We are working on building horse trails at the park here in Lee county.
